PRENATAL VITAMINS AFTER 40

The prenatal vitamins are one of the best vitamins used for living healthy. One important thing is the potency, purity and qualities of prenatal vitamin.  These prenatal vitamins are not only necessary for pregnant women; it is also helpful for all family members especially after 40s. Many women want to give birth after 40 years of age. The delaying childbearing is due to different reason in life like late marriage, financial status, and remarriage or career choices. A study shows that infertile women over 40 are successful in conceiving. It is also reported even in women over 60 years of age. This causes ethical and social issues – not the medical issues, the reality is that they want to start a new family or add another little one. When the age increases over 35 years, the risks mentioned above are on higher side. Pregnant women after 40 years can meet medical problems as diabetes, thyroid, and high blood pressure disorders. It is lucky to control these conditions before, during and after the pregnancy. Mother with diabetes carries a higher risk of defected child birth. Due to poor control of blood sugar in pregnancy can result irregular fetal development. Prior prenatal care and use of medications can lower the risk of defected child birth.

Genetic defects are found on higher side with elder age. With age the chromosomes of higher age women get more abnormalities. Some of the infertility centers have technology to pick over these abnormal eggs. But it increases in many women with this age.

In normal a childbearing, women has 3% chances of delivering a defected child birth. After 40 it increases from 6% to 8%. Pregnancy loss moves up with advancing age. So many complications are found in labor and delivery after 40.

  2. The premature separation of the placenta will result in internal bleeding.
  3. Abnormal placement of the placenta over the fluid, it is harmful if breathed in at birth.
  4. The Postpartum blood loss
  5. The breach position of the baby.

All the above problems are linked with the pregnancy after 40. These risks can be controlled with different strategies. First of all make an appointment to see the doctor. The doctor will decide the medicines and diet plans for women over 40. It is necessary for early prenatal care and healthy babies and happy mothers. Take good and healthy diet, quit smoking and alcohol. Start the prenatal vitamins and stick to them, moderate exercise recommended. It is good for muscle toning and for flexibility of joints. Get tested to avoid typical pregnancy problems. Natural diet has no substitute but in pregnancy women need more blood so iron is necessary for blood and calcium for the strong bones of baby and the mother.
